Todd “Jiu Jiu” Bevan, a last minute substitution, will now participate in the NAAFS National Amateur Series Semi-Final round against Bill Morosetti of H2O MMA. Bevan is coming off his first round domination of 2010′s National Amateur Series runner-up Josh Oppenheimer in August, a win that many thought would put him in the top four and earn him a spot in the semis. However, the win only put him at fifth in the welterweight division. He was surpassed by:
1. Nick Killian (7-2)
2. Dave Vandevolde (6-0-1)
3. Dave Gabig (5-2)
4. and Bill Morosetti (7-3)
Vandevolde, ranked #2 at welterweight, suffered an injury during training and it was decided today that he would not be able to participate in the tournament. Ready as ever, Todd steps in today as the last minute replacement for October 15th, to fight in a tournament that is his to win. Morosetti has four wins by way of submission, but will have his hands full with “Jiu Jiu” once the fight goes to the ground. At 6-0 with titles in two different organizations, the NAAFS 2011 National Amateur Series would be an outstanding finish for Todd’s stellar amateur career.
